Dandelions – Wrocław

The project was inspired by dandelions which are present in nature. The idea of Dandelions is to capture floral delicacy using “heavy material” – metal. The delicate nature of Dandelions contrasts the monumental architecture of the city. Dandelions are made of high quality acid resistant stainless electropolished steel. It does not require special maintenance. It is totally water, storm and winter-proof.

In year 2013 Dandelions were commisioned to be one of the most interesting sculptures in public spaces by CODAworx, the online global community.

Geological observer

I believe already prehistoric people from around here observed this landscape. The sculpture symbolizes the continuity of observation of nature. The sculpture is made of stones arranged on top of each other. The stones are from various geological eras. The stones are processed naturally by the power of time and water. They are arranged in a pattern similar to the rocky cliffs visible on the slopes of the mountains. The sculpture was created at K-Lab Kjerringøy Land Art Biennale.

Bubble Forest

“Bubble Forest” was created as a reflection on the ability of plants to produce oxygen. The title forest consists of 18 steel stems/trunks ending with inflorescences/crowns in the form of spherical constructions representing a single air bubble. “Bubble Forest” refers to the terrestrial flora as well as to that known from the bottom of lakes, seas and oceans.

Dandelions – Nice

Designed for Cap3000 “Bubble Forest” and “Dandelions” installations were created as a result of inspiration with delicate natural plant forms, and were executed in extremely hard and weather-resistant material — acid-resistant stainless steel.

“Dandelions” is an installation directly inspired by the sophisticated design of dandelions (Taraxacum officinale) occurring in nature. The concept of this work was preceded by a meticulous analysis of the structure of dandelion seedhead, which in a somewhat simplified form was then transposed to the macro scale. As a result, the delicate floral pattern took on a completely new — half futuristic, half fairy tale — context.

Memorial of Gratitude

The project aim was to commemorate Opoczno region inhabitants murdered in prison, concentration camps and killed in action during World War II and in struggle for independence of Poland.

Memorial of Gratitude is build on the circle. The form of the monument refers to the rotunda to emphasize the place as a “temple” of memory and gratitude. The luminous aureola, apotheosis of glory, heroism and victory of the fallen, hovers on three pillars, which represent spiritual sublimity. Anybody wanting to read the plaque has to step into the space of the monument and become its part. The plinth has the shape of a truncated cylinder, to emphasize the martyrdom of people who sacrifice their life on the altar of the history of the struggle for independence of Poland.
